FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What type of memorial can I have?
This is an important question because most cemeteries have restrictions or rules on what you are allowed to erect on the grave of your loved one. By this we mean certain types of memorials may or may not be allowed depending upon the cemetery conditions.
  • I’m on a budget. How does this affect my choices?
If you are budget conscience then this is a great starting point. If you have a particular budget in mind, it is best to state that up front so that you can begin from that point. For example, a lawn level memorial is less expensive than an upright memorial. If you are budget conscious, then you will want to start with lawn level marker pricing and work your way out until you find an area of pricing that you are most comfortable with.
  • What type of memorial should I choose?
Deciding on the type of memorial is dependent upon a few factors; cemetery restrictions, budget, design or shape of memorial and finally color of memorial. All of these areas should be addressed in order to make you comfortable with your purchase.
  • What color should I choose for my memorial?
This decision basically becomes a matter of personal preference. The color you choose should be the color you most prefer. It is important to note that the color does not affect the structure of your memorial. That is, it does not make the granite any better or stronger. However, there are price differences and the color you choose will affect the price of your memorial.
  • What is a memorial foundation?
This is the concrete foundation that is installed into the ground. This gives the memorial a solid structure on which to sit so that it doesn’t settle or lean in the future. Our Forever Foundations are poured wet and are industry leading quality. Cost of a foundation is dependent upon the dimensions of your memorial.
  • How long will it take to deliver my memorial once it has been ordered?
Typically, a memorial takes 10-12 weeks from start to finish. Generally speaking, we usually are able to deliver your memorial more quickly than the aforementioned lead times as these represent worst case scenarios. The time frames are dependent upon two factors. The first factor is who is pouring the foundation; the cemetery or Festus-Crystal Monument. If the foundation is installed by the cemetery, we have no control over their install date. The second factor is the weather. Obviously, exceptionally extended periods of inclement weather could potentially slow the progress of your memorial. Though these problems rarely occur, they are worth mentioning.
